Watch: A 2-minute tour of Medebir

Video walkthrough coming soon โ€” read the steps below for now.

Medebir is a point-of-sale, inventory, and compliance platform built for Ethiopian shops. It is designed around Ethiopia's Electronic Invoicing System (EIMS) under Directive No. 1142/2026, so every sale you record can automatically become a government-recognized digital receipt. This manual covers every tab in the app, in the order most owners use them: getting approved, setting up your catalog, selling, and staying compliant.

    1

    1. Get approved

Every shop starts as a request. Medebir's team, working with the tenant onboarding process, verifies your business and links your store to Ethiopia's tax system before you can sell.

    2

    2. Build your catalog

Add items one by one or import them in bulk, set prices and tax rules, and organize stock across branches.

    3

    3. Sell and comply automatically

Every checkout generates the required IRN/RRN and QR code for you โ€” no manual paperwork.

    4

    4. Track the business, not just the till

Expenses, waiting-list customers, reports, and team roles all live in the app so you can see gross and net profit, not just sales totals.

    5

    5. Everyone gets the right level of access

Owners see everything. Team members you invite only see and do what their assigned role allows โ€” a cashier can process a sale but may not be able to edit prices or view compliance settings, for example. This keeps the shop safe as it grows past one person.

    6. Help is always nearby

Every tab in this manual has a short video next to the written steps, and the Support page (phone, Telegram, and email) is always one tap away if something doesn't match what you see on screen.
